Wowza! The Mad Wife is an absolutely engrossing and dark look at motherhood through the lens of the 1950s.
๐งIโve been alternating between the physical copy and listening to the audiobook and Susan Bennett gives a cinematic performance in the way that she brings Lulu and her spiraling inner thoughts to life. I can really feel for Lulu and what she was experiencing, and Iโve been brought to tears more than onceโฆ I swear people at work are gonna start wondering about me since Iโve been crying while listening to audiobooks at my desk this week. I may have also been muttering out loud during the times Iโve been quite infuriated at Luluโs husband.๐
Iโm hoping to finish this today. It is a story I find myself completely captivated by and could easily have binged if my darn life and job didnโt get in the way!
